It's HOT

So in honor of the heat we decided to play in the sprinkler. Here's Hadley in her swim suit getting ready to go out and play. The sprinkler was a little too scary, so we decided just to play with hose instead and she seemed to enjoy that! It was a fun afternoon!

Today's goings on

Went to Lauren's house this morning and got hang out with all the kiddos. She has 6 at her house right now. Her neices and nephew and her sister are all there plus her 2 kids, so she's busy! But it was nice to let Hadley play with all the big kids. She loves to follow them around. Then Hadley and I went to stupid Walmart to get Bryan a father's day present. Not really an exciting one, but I think it's sweet. Maybe next year Hadley will be big enough to make her daddy a card! How cute.

I've been asked to do some document translating for a medical research group assosiated with Riley Hospital for Children. I'm very excited to get to do some work with my spanish again. It will be totally through email and I'm going to get started on my first project today during nap time. Which is right now, so I guess I better stop blogging and start translating! Good luck to me because I'm pretty rusty!

My Garden

A while ago I showed you all pictures of the sprouts I had inside. Well, I officially planted my garden on May 1st so we are over 4 weeks into it and I have some wonderful pictures to show of the progress!

1st up are my tomato plants. These aren't the ones I had as seedlings. (those died an untimely death a few weeks ago. These I got from a guy at church who was giving them away for free last weeken!) I'm going to make my own tomato sauce to freeze. Also some diced tomatoes for chilli and cooking. Yum!

This is a pepper plant. I have been eating red and yellow bell peppers right and left and thought it was about time to grow my own!

These are my carrots. I'm having a hard time getting excited about them because I can't actually see their progress. All I can see are the tops!

These are the green beans. They are starting to flower, so we should have beans any day now!

And lastly this is the corn. I wasn't planning on doing corn, that was Bryan's idea. But now they are my fastest growing plant and I'm really looking forward to eating some corn in the fall.

While I was out there I also took some pics of Hadley just because!

VBS

VBS is almost over. We've had a good week all in all. There were 4 of us co planning and I think we did a pretty good job! I've really enjoyed the behind-the-scenes aspect of it. I think I like it even better than teaching or doing nursery like I have in the past. But maybe I shouldn't say that or they'll ask me to do it every year! We are doing a game show theme and I think it's really cute. Some of the older kids are bored and want to do sports camp (our previous VBS theme) again. The little kids are so cute! Now, if we can just pull off the backstage bash on Friday night we'll be home free.
